FINE ART PHOTOGRAPHY
My fine art photographs and digital compositions are produced photographically as chromogenic, archival prints, matted and framed with archival materials. Please contact me for further information.

ARTIST STATEMENT
Wherever I go, I take photos. I love looking through the lens. While photographing I look for ambiguity of spatial depth, random and curious relationships, irregular color and angles, distortion, isolation, emotion, unease, compassion and humor.

As the photographs accumulate, trends and themes emerge and I follow them. Sometimes they emerge rapidly. Other times it takes years.

It's important that the viewer trust me and trust the truth they may find for themselves in mystery, confusion, isolation, fear, filth, tragedy, myth, apathy, death, parody, candor, comedy, delight, joy, ecstasy, beauty, bliss, peace.

I try to insulate myself against trendy pressures and work toward the honesty and authenticity of an image.

It's natural to feel close to my subject since by necessity I am present physically and emotionally. My goal is to present an image that suggests rather than describes; transcends reality and appeals to feelings; and abstracts reality as a way of getting at the truth of what we look at and experience in our lives.
